BEING HERE.


I’ve lived in Vancouver since 2000 and continue to predominantly focus my work on this incredible city. Looking in the rear-view mirror, my getting here was indeed a dramatic journey and one that strongly influenced my approach to real estate, to family and to my love of Vancouver. The short story. At 19, I fled the oppressive regime of my native country, arriving temporarily in Sweden. As a stowaway on a Canada-bound freighter and after a precarious stop in Liverpool England, I finally arrived in Halifax. My ‘being there’ outlook began to unfold here, in the hospitality business , implementing a personal concierge approach to my work with hotels in and around the city, my Hotel Management studies at Mount Saint Vincent University and a stint with the Starwood Hotel Group and the Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship Line. Finally, I chose Vancouver, and in the intervening years, this city has truly become my home, complete with marriage and fatherhood.

The realization of how lucky I am to have a city like Vancouver as a backdrop for my work, my play and my family never loses its charge. I value it always and, beyond exploring the environmental wonders of our natural surroundings and coaching my son’s soccer team, I happily pursue community involvement, including the local Chamber of Commerce, BIA, Neighbourhood House (Corporate Good Neighbour award), Big Brothers and Beauty Night Society. These and many other volunteering activities are a bona fide reminder that contributing positively to community and to the betterment of family and peers must always remain a paramount commitment.
